A guide to the clubs and activities for children, teens and young adults to enjoy in Haslemere and the surrounding area
A Place to Be is a youth group. It runs every Friday evening from 7 pm until 9 pm at Shottermill Junior School. All those in years 7, 8 and 9 are welcome to attend.
The Haslemere Youth Hub is a youth community centre for preschoolers through to teens and young adults.
They provide a wide range of weekly clubs for babies through to teens, all under one roof. These range from street dance, aerial silks, basketball, singing groups, mother and baby groups to football and much more. Affordable activities are also hosted for all ages during school holidays.
The Haslemere Army Cadets offer young people from all walks of life a chance to get active, learn new skills and make new friends in an inspirational and safe environment. They meet twice a week. Activities are also organised on some weekends and all cadets can go on the Annual Camp.
The Haslemere Air Cadets offer young people from all walks of life a chance to get active, learn new skills and make new friends in an inspirational and safe environment. The Haslemere Air Cadets meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 pm to 9.30 pm. They get involved in a wide variety of activities including flying, guiding, target shooting, adventure training, camps, drill, sports, academic studies and more. Cadets need to be 12 to join and usually leave aged 18.
There are a number of girlguiding groups in Haslemere and the surrounding villages. Rainbows are for 4-7 year olds, Brownies for 7-10 year olds, Guides for 10-14 year olds and Rangers for 14-18 year olds.
There are seven local Scout Groups (young people aged 6-14 years) and 2 Explorer Scout groups (14-18 years) in Haslemere and the surrounding villages. Beavers is for 6-8 year olds, Cubs is for 8-10 1/2 year olds, Scouts is for 10 1/2 to 14 year olds and Explorers is for 14-18 year olds.
The Green Hub is a not-for-profit community group which helps teens with mild to moderate anxiety issues. It promotes mental wellbeing in teenagers. At The Green Hub, teenagers can become volunteers and work in the garden alongside experienced adult volunteers. The goal is to get them working together in a calm safe space, allowing the teenagers to step out of the pressures of normal daily life. Teens can also enjoy activities each week including sports and crafts.
Chatterbooks reading group is held
at the Haslemere Library one Saturday each month from 11.10 am until 11.50 am. Please check with the library for the next session date. The group is suitable for children aged 7 years and over.
